Congratulations to Laporta

Tebas began by congratulating Laporta and his new board on their election victory.

He also underlined the significance of the ongoing redevelopment of Spotify Camp Nou, saying:

“For an institution like La Liga, the stadium renovation is important for the club, for Spain, and for the world.”

Recognition for financial stability

Tebas also acknowledged the difficult period Barcelona has endured before praising the current direction of the institution.

“These have been tough years, but they are now on a great path and have nothing to envy from any other club in this country,” he stated.

He also congratulated Laporta and his board for restoring financial stability, saying:

“Congratulations on placing the club on the path to economic sustainability.”

A more cooperative relationship

Tebas also addressed the relationship between La Liga and Barcelona, which has often been marked by public disagreements in recent years.

While recognising those differences, he stressed the importance of maintaining institutional respect.

“We have experienced moments of disagreement, but the important thing is to proceed with institutional respect. We will always strive to find what is best for our football,” he affirmed.

To conclude his address, Tebas emphasised Barcelona’s importance to the league as a whole.

“We share the goal of making LaLiga great, and Barça ‘s successes are La Liga’s successes; that’s what makes Spanish football greater,” stated Tebas,

He closed with a final message that summed up his remarks: “Barcelona ‘s success is La Liga’s success.”
