Today, Saturday, FC Bayern will face RB Leipzig at home in the Allianz Arena. The match is part of the Telekom Cup, with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
Although several star players are still missing from the roster, it’s still interesting to see where the team stands in its preparations. After a series of successful preseason friendlies against opponents like Aston Villa, the match against Leipzig will be a real test for the record champions.
Lennart Karl and Serge Gnabry are still in rehabilitation training and will rejoin the team shortly. Harry Kane, Dayot Upamecano, and Michael Olise arrived in Munich just a few days ago after their World Cup break and completed their performance assessments.
They won’t be available for the match against Leipzig yet. Nevertheless, some World Cup veterans are looking to get back into their rhythm; players like Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, and Nathaniel Brown have been training for a while now. Once again, the roster is being bolstered by several young talents.
A few of these youngsters have already made a name for themselves during preseason so far. Bayern’s goal for the new season is once again to integrate young players into the team. By the way, the match will be broadcast on FC Bayern TV+, as well as on Magenta —and it’s free!

It’s now clear how FC Bayern will line up for the match against Leipzig. Manuel Neuer will start in goal, getting the nod over Jonas Urbig. In the back four, Konrad Laimer and Nathaniel Brown will start on the flanks, while Minjae Kim and Jonathan Tah will play in the center. Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic are positioned in front of the defense, while the attacking lineup featuring Luis Diaz and Arijon Ibrahimovic is set up to be very flexible. Tom Bischof is expected to provide support here, and young Tim Binder is also in the starting lineup.
It’s encouraging to see that Jamal Musiala, Ismael Saibari, and Alphonso Davies are indeed on Bayern’s roster, as previously expected. They could get their first minutes of action in preseason.
