Wolves academy prospect Temple Ojinnaka has joined League Two club Shrewsbury Town on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old is Shrewsbury's sixth addition of the January window and their second in 24 hours, following defender Isaac Lee's arrival from Flint Town United, according to ExpressAndStar.com.

Capable in midfield, centre-back or full-back, Ojinnaka trained with Shrewsbury for several days before the move. He was recently on the bench for Wolves in Premier League games against Manchester United and Everton.

Shrewsbury boss Michael Appleton said the club had monitored the Italian youngster for some time, noting his tackling, presence and athleticism. He first saw him in midfield and, after speaking to Sean Parrish, was assured of his versatility. Appleton added they brought him in for a short spell and quickly reached an agreement.

Born in Italy, Ojinnaka joined Wolves at the age of 12 and progressed through the academy. Standing at six feet two inches, he signed his first professional contract with the Premier League side in February 2023.

He has made 12 appearances for James Collins' under-21s this season, captaining the last three matches, and featured in their Premier League 2 win over Norwich City. Wolves have wished him well for the remainder of the campaign.
