Max Eberl is particularly in the spotlight. While his transfers, above all Vincent Kompany and Luis Díaz, are convincing in sporting terms, his work is being criticized internally. Topics such as high salaries, costly contract extensions and a lack of transfer revenue are causing discussions

According to kicker, there are also ongoing tensions with Christoph Freund. The collaboration between the two is considered difficult and there is even talk internally of a „forced marriage“. At the same time, FC Bayern is pressing ahead with the restructuring of its youth academy. With Michael Wiesinger as the new head of the NLZ and possible further personnel changes, the campus is being strategically realigned

The aim is clear: more talented players from the club’s own ranks should make the leap into the professional squad. This approach has already paid off under Vincent Kompany – several young players have made their debut this season

In the long term, the aim is to create a lean squad that is selectively supplemented with home-grown talent – a model that combines sporting success with financial stability

Supervisory board meeting as a turning point

The decisive Supervisory Board meeting is held at the end of May, where not only the sporting situation and transfer strategy are discussed, but also the future of the management team

While there are many indications that CEO Dreesen’s contract will be extended, the situation with Eberl is much more open. The coming weeks could therefore set the tone for the balance of power at FC Bayern

Bayern are not only facing crucial matches on the pitch – but also a strategic realignment that will shape the club well beyond 2027.
