RMC Sport understands that Terem Moffi (26) and Jonathan Clauss (32) have both been sanctioned ahead of OGC Nice’s UEFA Europa League opener against AS Roma on Wednesday night.
As per the report, the pair were late for a team meeting on Monday morning. They have therefore been sanctioned, as per the club’s guidelines on disciplinary matters. It means that neither player will start against Roma tonight.
Moffi has already lost his place in the starting XI to Kevin Carlos, who has nonetheless struggled since joining from Basel. The Nigerian forward had been tipped to start against the Serie A side. Clauss, meanwhile, has been a regular for Nice this season, although he did miss a game amid talks with Bayer Leverkusen. Franck Haise admitted that the player’s head was turned and that he wanted to depart. The France international did, however, remain, and he continues to feature prominently. Tiago Gouveia will likely start in his place.
Whilst neither player will start, both are still expected to be on the bench at the Allianz Riviera this evening.
