After barely playing last season, Terracciano is finding more spaces under new coach Paulo Fonseca and last night he played from the start against Monza in the role of the right-back, after previously starting as a left-back.

Filippo helped the Diavolo keep a clean-sheet and win 1-0 against Alessandro Nesta’s side. Afterwards, he spoke to the press in the mixed-zone:

“When I get the right amount of playing time, I can build confidence. This is a positive moment for me. I believe in myself, and I chose to stay at Milan because I wanted to prove my worth. Difficulties against Monza? We worked well from the back, handling some transitions effectively. Even in the second half, when we switched to a back three, things went well. I enjoy pushing forward, but it also depends on the game.

“Sometimes, staying back is necessary to read the spaces. The important thing is to help the team, and I always try to collaborate with my teammates through my movements. With coach Fonseca, we work on these aspects, also by studying our opponents.

“Reijnders? He is important, just like the other teammates. He had a great defensive game, and I don’t need to say much about his quality — everyone knows his potential. Defensively, I emphasize that he did a great job.”
