Terrão graduate could be Corinthians’ wildcard in Paulista quarters

Next Sunday (22), at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), Corinthians will face Portuguesa at Canindé Stadium in a match valid for the quarterfinals of the 2026 Paulista Championship. For the match, coach Dorival Júnior is expected to have midfielder Breno Bidon, 20, who has been recovering from a muscle injury in his right thigh.

The information was initially reported by ge.globo. The injury of the Terrão's Son occurred on the last February 8, Sunday, in the classic against Palmeiras in Itaquera, during the first phase of the Paulistão. The number 7, who has been consolidating his role in a more advanced position in midfield, is the second top scorer for the Alvinegro this year with two goals scored.

According to the portal, Breno Bidon, who was in physical transition, was cleared by the Corinthians medical department and is already training normally with the squad at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. He was absent in the last three matches of the team: Red Bull Bragantino (Brasileirão), São Bernardo (Paulistão), and Athletico-PR (Brasileirão). Meanwhile, forward Kaio César, recovering from a muscle injury in his right thigh, is not expected to be available yet – he began transition this Friday, according to ge.globo.

Corinthians is also working to have left-back Fabrizio Angileri available for the coaching staff. The Argentine is undergoing physical reconditioning after missing the first weeks of the season while negotiating a contract renewal with the Alvinegro. Currently, Dorival Júnior only has Matheus Bidu as an option for the position, as Hugo Farias underwent surgery on the meniscus of his right knee and is expected to be out for four to six months.
