Terrão graduate leaves Saudi Arabia, joins Spanish club

Another "Son of Terrão" has gone on to shine in Europe. After spending a year and a half in Saudi Arabia playing for Al Nassr, Wesley has been announced as a reinforcement for Real Sociedad, in Spain, for the remainder of the season. He was loaned, with the Spanish club having a purchase option valued at 12 million euros (about R$ 75 million).

“I am very happy to be here. I will give my all to achieve the team's goals. I am here to contribute with my qualities on both sides and help the team in every way I can,” said the former Corinthians player upon his arrival at Real Sociedad.

Corinthians will not be entitled to any share of the percentage from the deal, since it is a loan, but they are keeping an eye on a possible purchase by the Spanish club. Having worn the Timão shirt for about seven years, from ages 12 to 19, the club is entitled to 3% of any deal involving Wesley, due to FIFA's solidarity mechanism.

In just over a year playing in Saudi Arabia, Wesley played 40 matches, scored five goals, and contributed four assists. At the time, he left Corinthians for approximately R$ 110 million, with Timão entitled to 70% of that amount, as that was the club's share of his economic rights at the time.

After his stint in Saudi Arabia, the player, who will turn 21 in 2026, will live the dream of playing in Europe. Real Sociedad is currently in eighth place in La Liga, with 27 points, and could qualify for a continental competition next season.
