Thaís Regina returns for Corinthians after almost eight months out injured | OneFootball

Thaís Regina returned to action for Corinthians on Sunday, making her first appearance of the season in a 4-0 win over Vitória at Canindé. The result put Brabas back on top of the table.

According to Meu Timao, the 27-year-old fractured the fibula in her left ankle during January pre-season while the squad prepared for the Copa das Campeãs, ruling her out of that tournament. She missed the Supercopa Feminina, much of the Brasileiro and the start of the Paulista.

She started in place of Erika, who was rested by Emily Lima's staff, and produced a composed display. Late on she almost marked her comeback with a goal, sliding to meet a Vic Albuquerque cross, but goalkeeper Lorrana saved.

Her previous outing was on 7 December 2025, a 5-1 defeat to Palmeiras in the first leg of the Paulistão final, when she was substituted at half-time.

After recovering, she was gradually reintegrated and returned to full training during the pause for the World Cup, also taking minutes in a friendly.

Signed from Flamengo at the start of 2025, she became a regular last season, playing 30 games with 20 wins, six draws and four defeats, plus four goals and two assists. She was part of the squads that won the Brasileiro and the Copa Libertadores Feminina.

Now fit and available, she will hope to build a run. Corinthians face Palmeiras next in the Paulista, the derby on Wednesday at 19:00 at Arena Barueri.
