For FC Bayern, it’s important this summer to generate revenue and maintain financial stability. That’s why player sales are so important to Max Eberl. Now, following the World Cup, the record champion is set to receive a supplementary payment in the millions.

This will be welcome news in Munich, following recent revenue generated by the sales of players such as Alexander Nübel, Noel Aseko, and Lovro Zvonarek.

Including bonus clauses and a share of the transfer fee for former Bayern player Tanguy Nianzou from Sevilla FC to OSC Lille, the record champions have already brought in around 40 million euros. Sacha Boey, Joao Palhinha, and Bryan Zaragoza are also expected to bring in millions more.

Bayern to Receive Millions After the World Cup

Now there’s another windfall. FC Bayern is set to receive another roughly 2.3 million euros for loaning players to the 2026 World Cup, according to a report by the Abendzeitung citing an analysis by Deutsche Kreditbank.

This amount is the fourth-highest among all clubs benefiting from this compensation payment. BVB and Bayer 04 Leverkusen are also in the top 10 in terms of the total payout.

Only Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal FC ultimately recorded higher revenues.

Due to the German national team’s early elimination in the round of 32 against Paraguay, Munich dropped from second to fourth place in the club rankings; otherwise, they could have received an even higher amount.

“The ranking is based on the compensation payments from FIFA that clubs receive for each day their players are in action at the World Cup,” according to the DKB press release.

Incidentally, the English Premier League tops the list of leagues benefiting from this, with a total of more than 26 million euros; however, the Bundesliga ranks second in the league standings with just over 13 million euros.
