Dani Olmo is one of the FC Barcelona players currently away from the Catalan club, training with their respective national teams. The 27-year-old midfielder is at the disposal of Luis de la Fuente for the Spanish national team, continuing to play an important role for his country.

In a recent interview with Mundo Deportivo, Olmo spoke about several aspects of the Barcelona squad. Despite being three points behind Real Madrid, he expressed confidence that the Blaugranes can overtake their rivals, emphasizing the team’s focus on their own performance.

“Nothing special. In the end, when you’re at Barça, you focus on yourselves. Now with the national team, we’re focused on these two qualifying matches, and when we return, we’ll focus on Atleti and what comes next. We’re confident that if we’re doing well and at 100%, we depend on ourselves. That’s how we see it, both at Barça and with the national team,” he said.

The Spaniard also believed that the returns of some injured players would also help the Catalans improve their form:

“Yes, they’re players who contribute a lot both on and off the pitch. Having them back in the dynamic helps. Jani and Rafa are doing well, let’s see if Pedri comes back soon, and Gavi as well — they’re players who help us a lot.”

Addressing reports about the dressing room atmosphere, the Spaniard insisted that the team remains united.

“No, not at all. That’s just the perception from the outside. On the inside, we’re all together, with the same idea, the same philosophy, and the same desire to win.”

He was also asked about the coach, Hansi Flick, and whether he has been calm despite outside pressure. Olmo replied, “Yes, yes, he is fine.”

The midfielder was also clear that there is no need to change from the philosophy the team adopted last season:

“I think the playing idea we’re committed to has been made clear, both last year and this one. Sometimes it goes better or worse, but it’s clear, and we trust in it. There’s no reason to change. In the end, it’s worked well for us.”

Finally, Olmo touched on discussions involving his agent, emphasizing that they do not affect his commitment to Barcelona.

“Yes, I’d say so. Just because they meet doesn’t mean they’re always talking about me. In the end, that’s part of their job too.”

Olmo’s remarks underline the confidence within the squad and their commitment to Flick’s approach. With key players returning and the team maintaining its focus, Barcelona will be hoping that this philosophy continues to deliver success both domestically and in Europe this season.
