Yan Diomandé (19) is currently at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the Ivory Coast and his full focus is clearly on the competition. The RB Leipzig winger said he was blissfully unaware of the ongoing saga regarding his future at club level.
Diomandé has been the subject of bids from Liverpool, which have been rejected by RB Leipzig, however, he has informed Paris Saint-Germain of his desire to join them this summer. PSG, therefore, are looking to quickly advance a deal to sign the Ivorian ahead of next season.
However, speaking to Bild, Leipzig’s sporting director, Marcel Schafer, said that Diomandé would remain at the Bundesliga giants next season. It is potentially the start of a saga, although there is a strong relationship established between Leipzig and PSG.
In any case, Diomandé is unaware of all the noise that now surrounds his future at club level. “That’s news to me! I don’t have internet, I don’t have Instagram, I don’t have TikTok. It is my agent who is talking to the club. I don’t have any information,” began the winger.
He continued, “I don’t want to talk about it, even with my agent, because it is an opportunity to play in the World Cup. It is every four years, so you have to make the most of it. I want to make history with my country and give the best of myself.”
