Joao Pedro has been disappointing us overall, but there was no being disappointed by his finish against Brentford yesterday.
The striker wound up a super strike and slammed it left footed into the roof of the net after the ball dropped to him in the box. Speaking to Chelsea TV, the Brazilian gave his thoughts on the match.

“It was a tough game against a tough team,” JP said in quotes picked up on the club’s official website.
“When we play at home, we need to show ourselves and be aggressive like we did today. I think when you win, you feel more confident because we’re still in the race and we want to be as close to the top as possible.
“This win is very good because they are doing very well this season. They have dropped points against us, and we are still in the race. We needed that goal and I want to score in as many games as possible. It was great for the team and me, but we can improve more.
“Everyone knows Brentford are aggressive, so we tried to make combinations to come at them and they pressed us high. I think we won the first balls and second balls, and that’s why we won the game today.”
While Chelsea weren’t impressive in attack, he’s certainly right that the team did their best to compete physically, and without that they wouldn’t have had a chance.

Chelsea’s struggles to establish a really solid and reliable centre back pairing have been at the heart of their issues in the last few years. They might be about to add yet another option.
Cole Palmer looks very frustrated at the moment, with his body and with his form. Rosenior denied it, but we all knew what we saw yesterday.
