The 2 positions Barcelona want to strengthen before transfer deadline

The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have come to the conclusion that two areas of the club’s squad are in need of reinforcement, before the summer is out.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

The first position in Hansi Flick’s squad, considered as a priority on the part of the Camp Nou brass, is the left wing.

Barcelona have been actively recruiting left wing targets across the summer to date, only to see their efforts to land first-choice target Nico Williams come up short.

Amid fresh links with the likes of Federico Chiesa and Rafael Leão, though, Deco and co. will not rest until new head coach Flick’s squad is reinforced by way of a new signing out wide.

And the Blaugrana do not intend to stop there, either…

Though it will require some manoeuvring on the financial front, Sport add that the Barca transfer team are now also actively on the lookout for a new right-back.

With the return of João Cancelo beginning to look increasingly unlikely, a move for Almería talent Marc Pubill has in turn been touted as a feasible option on Wednesday.

The addition of a new central midfielder, evidently, is no longer considered a need by Hansi Flick and co, with focus having therefore shifted firmly towards securing fresh blood on the flanks ahead of the fast-approaching transfer deadline.
