Sheffield United host Wolverhampton Wanderers at Bramall Lane on Sunday in a midday kick-off, as the Blades look to make it back-to-back victories for the first time this season, whilst the Old Gold will be aiming to get back to winning ways.

An exciting encounter awaits on Sunday, as Sheffield United take on Wolves in South Yorkshire for a midday kick-off.

Sheffield United head into this game with just one defeat this season, that being a 3-1 home loss to Norwich City, as the Blades take on a newly-relegated former Premier League side for the first time this campaign.

The Blades came from 1-0 down to defeat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in midweek, and will be hoping to carry that momentum into this fixture with Wolves, who are coming off the back of a 2-2 draw away with Birmingham City.

English right-back Femi Seriki is expected to be out for 'a considerable time’ following a knee injury sustained in Sheffield United's League Cup triumph over Blackburn Rovers a few weeks ago.

The defender’s injury was serious enough that Chris Wilder delved back into the market to sign Leicester City's Hamza Choudhury as a cover option, whilst former Wolves right-back Matt Doherty is still working his way back to full fitness, as Seriki is expected to remain out of this one.

Tahith Chong has been absent since Blades’ opening-day stalemate with his former side Birmingham City, as Sheffield United head coach Chris Wilder isn’t being tempted into unnecessary risks to rush back any key players just yet, including the Curaçao international.

The winger will be hoping to have a solid campaign after a few years of struggles with Luton Town and now the Blades, but his season doesn’t appear to be beginning on Sunday.

Former Peterborough United star Harrison Burrows tweaked a quad in the draw against Swansea City and has been missing ever since as a result, with Sam McCallum and Rhys Norrington-Davies filling in during his absence.

The left-back will be hoping to be reinstated into the starting XI promptly upon his return to fitness, though with heavy competition in his position, he will have to earn it.

Ryan Oné

Former Hamilton Academical striker Ryan Oné picked up a hamstring injury in Sheffield United's stalemate against Birmingham on the opening day, and has been out of every matchday squad since.

The Scottish striker, who showed glimpses of his ability on loan in League One last season with Lincoln City, will be hoping to provide serious competition to Tyrese Campbell, Patrick Bamford and Tom Cannon upon his return to fitness, in what has the potential to be a real breakthrough year for the 20-year-old.​

Peixoto’s first signing after taking charge of Wolves following the dismissal of Edwards, Comoros international Rafiki Said suffered an MCL injury during pre-season, ruling him out of action for the foreseeable future, as Old Gold supporters eagerly anticipate his competitive debut upon his return to full fitness.

Joining from Belgian side Standard Liege for around £7.7 million, the 26-year-old previously shone in spells in France with Nîmes and Troyes before excelling in Belgium last season, but has yet to make his first Wolves appearance following his summer switch, and that doesn't look likely to change in this away fixture at Bramall Lane.

Colombian centre-back Yerson Mosquera, like Trippier, picked up an injury in the Wolves' encounter with Blackburn on the opening day and was due to join his teammate on the sidelines for up to six weeks.

The 25-year-old, who signed for Wolves in a £4.5 million deal in 2021, will be a big miss for Wolves at the back, as Nasser Djiga, Santiago Bueno, and Toti Gomes prepare to step in if required.
