Jadon Sancho has sustained a shoulder injury and is now ‘expected to miss’ around two to three weeks of action, as confirmed by The Athletic’s Jacob Tanswell.
The on-loan Manchester United attacker is overseeing his final two months as an Aston Villa player before his season-long stint expires.

Sancho sustained the problem during a friendly against Elche last week, during which he was forced off before full-time after falling awkwardly under the challenge of Gonzalo Villar.
Subsequent scans showed that the 26-year-old had dislocated his shoulder, ruling him out of action when the Premier League resumes in a week’s time.
It came after an upturn in form for Sancho, who had recorded assists in his last two outings, initially doing so in Villa’s last-16 Europa League second leg clash against Lille before adding to his account when setting up John McGinn in the side’s 2-0 win over West Ham.
As a result, he is poised to miss out when Villa take on Bologna in their UEL quarter-final tie, with the first leg being played in Italy on April 9.
Wedged in between the two legs is a league encounter away to Nottingham Forest, who are desperately trying to retain their top-flight status amid an enthralling (for neutrals) relegation battle.
Then, when 2025/2026 draws to a close in May, Sancho will briefly be classed as a United player before he is released as a free agent at the end of June.

There was no buy option or obligation included in his terms with Villa, so, should they decide they want to keep hold of him, they would be able to wait until his Red Devils contract expires.
However, reports in recent weeks have suggested that Sancho is, to nobody’s surprise, being targeted by Borussia Dortmund once again.
