The atmosphere is bad because of Newcastle United season ticket holders, no one else

I have been one of the Newcastle United season ticket holders for 22 years now.

As well as having been a St James’ Park regular, I have also racked up over 200 away games in my time.

However, one thing that is really upsetting, is the lack of support and atmosphere we now receive from our home crowd.

People leaving after 30 mins for a pint and 80 mins to beat the queues to the pub, rather than staying and clapping the lads off, or getting behind the team when needed.

It seems like the home fans are becoming more of a spectator than a “supporter”, the lack of passion, getting behind the team and singing, is fading away week by week.

There are thousands of fans locked out, yet thousands inside simply cannot be bothered it seems, or they will say it’s day trippers or tourists.

Yet the vast majority, some 31,000, are Newcastle United season ticket holders.

The need for further safe standing and getting like-minded fans together has never been more needed.

Whether that is supporters pushing the club to get a full standing end, or getting like-minded supporters near away fans, instead of the family enclosure being there.

Something has to be done.

I would really welcome a new stadium at this point, as it may be an option to relocate fans who want to be heard.

Other clubs have full ends standing, so there is no excuse for us to not be able to.

If you don’t want to stand, or be in a section that does, please reallocate and remember this is for the good of Newcastle United, not you.
