The Bahamas, USA advance to semifinals

NASSAU, The Bahamas — The 2025 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship continued on Thursday with the final matchday in Group B at the Malcolm Park Beach Soccer Facility in Nassau, The Bahamas.
The hosts secured the top spot in the group with a thrilling victory against Trinidad and Tobago. The U.S. finished second by defeating Panama, who entered the day in first place and fell to third with the result.
The semifinals will take place on Saturday. The two finalists in the tournament will qualify for the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
United States 5, Panama 1
The United States won 5-1 against Panama to keep its hopes alive of advancing.
The U.S. took the lead with two goals in the first period, with Ricardo Carvalho striking at the 6’ and the 1’ for his brace.
Alfonso Maquensi responded for Panama in the 6’ 2P. Andrés Navas struck in the 3’ 2P to regain a two-goal lead for the Stars and Stripes.
Gabe Silveira, 11’ 3P, and Navas, 9’ 3P, added two more goals for the United States to secure the victory and the three points.
The Bahamas vs. Trinidad and Tobago
The Bahamas earned a 5-4 win against Trinidad and Tobago to win Group B and advance to the semifinals.
Jordan Riley placed the Soca Warriors in front in the 10’ 1P, but Wood Julmis, 3’ 1P, and Lekenson Chery, 2’ 1P, responded for the hosts. Riley collected his brace in the final minute of the first period to equalize.
The two nations traded goals throughout the second period, with Brandon Adderley striking a brace, 11’ 2P and 7’ 2P, while Akinola Gregory, 9’ 2P, and Zane Coker, 5’ 2P, scored for Trinidad and Tobago.
Kyle Williams broke the deadlock in the 7’ 3P to place The Bahamas in front. With no other goals scored, Williams’ was the match-winning strike as the hosts advanced to the next round.
