According to kicker, Bayern Munich have made a new and improved offer for Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Jonathan Tah.

Der Rekordmeister’s admiration for the German international has long been reported across the summer transfer window. However, despite Bayern’s efforts, it was recently revealed that a deal for the 28-year-old was in jeopardy.

Regardless, Bayern have since made a new offer to Die Werkself, which is understood to be an upfront fee of €20 million as well as an additional €5 million in add-ons. This is compared to their previous €20 million package, which would have seen €18 million paid upfront, with €2 million in future add-ons.

Nevertheless, Leverkusen are still not satisfied with Bayern’s valuation. As stated in the report, the Bundesliga champions are demanding €40 million for Tah and are, therefore, still €15 million apart in their valuation.

One key issue preventing the record champions from getting this deal over the line is the failure to offload Matthijs de Ligt so far this summer. According to Sky Germany, Bayern are refusing to lower their €50 million valuation for the Dutchman.

Despite concrete interest from Manchester United, the Premier League outfit have stated they will not meet Bayern’s demands. There is a belief that de Ligt could remain in Bavaria this summer, and if that were the case, then a deal for Tah could fizzle out for Bayern.
