Chelsea are just 6 points off of 14th place in the Premier League right now, putting them in a Europa League fight.
Even though qualifying for the Champions League is still possible for Chelsea, the reality is that after this weekend, they have more likely now slipped into a race for Europa League qualification instead.

That would be an absolute disaster for these owners who will need Champions League football going into next season without a doubt. They will need it for many reasons, mostly financial. But they will also need to to attract some of the players they will be trying to sign in the summer transfer window.
So right now, they are in a lot of trouble. And The BBC’s analysis after the weekend’s results really does make it hit home just where this club is at right now.

The BBC say:
‘The race for Champions League qualification appears to be settled after two dramatic second-half injury-time winners on Sunday.
‘But while there might be a seven-point gap separating Liverpool in fifth and Chelsea in sixth, scrolling further down the table, the Europa League and Europa Conference League spots are anyone’s guess.
‘Just three points separate the sixth and 12th places – the smallest margin ever on this date in the Premier League’s 34-season history.
‘Six points separate sixth and 14th.
‘Only once before in Premier League history has the gap between sixth and 14th been tighter on this date (19 April) and that was in the very first season of the competition in 1992-93 (five points).’
Liam Delap has said Chelsea have the belief they can finish in the top five and win the FA Cup despite their struggles this season. I’d like some of his positivity!
And on Delap, we are already hearing the excuses about why he has not been playing well in a Chelsea shirt since arriving in the summer. We’re all tired of excuses to be honest.
