Enzo Maresca has revealed he wants the Chelsea squad to have a mentality like Marc Cucurella ahead of the Arsenal game.

Chelsea welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge in a top of the table clash, with the Blues six points behind the Gunners.

A first win against their rivals since 2021 would see Chelsea cut the gap in half, and put them very much in the title conversation at this early stage of proceedings.

Enzo Maresca praises Marc Cucurella mentality

Chelsea recorded an impressive 3-0 victory against Barcelona on Tuesday night, and there appears to have been a real shift in mentality at the club under Maresca.

Maresca has done a brilliant job with a young squad, and he admitted he wants all his players to have a mentality like Cucurella.

“He is the biggest joker, for sure, one of the characters inside the building, and he has the capacity to switch from laughing and joking to being serious,” he told Chelsea’s official website.

“I want all the players to have that mentality.

“The more players you have like Marc, the better it is.”

Rooney was hugely impressed by Cucurella against Barcelona, and the left back has established himself as not only one of Chelsea’s best players, but one of their most important.

John Terry has also heaped praise on Cucurella, and the Spain international will face another tough test against Bukayo Saka on Sunday.

Chelsea left back has signed improved contract

Chelsea have reportedly offered Cucurella an improved contract, but despite no official confirmation from the club Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the deal has been signed.
