The Border Is Rojiblanca! Chivas Femenil Defeat Xolos and Return to Winning Ways | OneFootball

Chivas Femenil returned to winning ways in a match highlighted by the control they maintained throughout the 90 minutes, defeating Xolos 2-0 at Estadio Caliente in Matchday 8 of the Apertura 2026.

The Rebaño took the field determined to claim all 3 points and looked to create danger around the border side's goal from the opening minutes. Antonio Contreras' team found set pieces to be one of their main avenues for getting close to the opposing goal. During the opening half, Chivas created several chances, but the ball could not find the back of the net. However, Guadalajara's persistence never faded, and the reward came in the 39th minute. Denise Castro reacted to a rebound inside the box and sent it into the back of the net.

With the lead in hand, the Rojiblancas entered the second half with the mission of preserving their advantage while continuing to fight until the final minute. Xolos looked to respond, but the Rebaño's defensive work kept a clean sheet for Blanca Félix. In the final stretch, Chivas also had another opportunity to extend the lead. In the 87th minute, a free kick taken by Alicia Cervantes beat the wall and went over the crossbar; however, the play was called offside by the referee. Despite this, the Rojiblanco side's finishing finally came through in stoppage time. In the 94th minute, a great Guadalajara play once again found Alicia Cervantes inside the box, and she sent the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-0.

With this result, Chivas Femenil earned an important victory that keeps them in second place in Group B with 15 points. Guadalajara will now prepare for another away test, as they visit Cruz Azul next Friday, September 25, in a Matchday 9 AP26 clash at Estadio Centenario de Morelos at 7 PM.
