This comes after the two semi-final matches played out in midweek.

On Tuesday night it was Arsenal 0 Newcastle 2.

Then Wednesday night it ended Tottenham 1 Liverpool 0.

Now this Carabao Cup team of the week has been made public, based on the Whoscored ratings from both games, the highest rated player in each position, from the two matches played.

‘The whoscored ratings use data from every single Premier League match, over 200 raw statistics included in the automated calculation of a player’s rating, weighted according to their influence within the game.

Every event of importance is taken into account, with a positive or negative effect on ratings weighted in relation to its area on the pitch and its outcome.’

As you can see below, five Newcastle United players included in the Carabao Cup best eleven this week.

WhoScored.com run through their Carabao Cup Team of the Week after the Semi-Final first legs, with Arsenal, Newcastle, Tottenham and Liverpool all represented.

Goalkeeper: Antonin Kinsky (Tottenham) – 7.97 rating Antonin Kinsky made his Tottenham debut following Sunday’s arrival from Slavia Prague and the 21-year-old didn’t disappoint on Wednesday night. Kinsky made six saves, six accurate long balls and one tackle in a fine debut showing that saw the youngster land a WhoScored.com rating of 7.97 in Spurs’ 1-0 win over Liverpool.

Right-back: Pedro Porro (Tottenham) – 6.88 rating The second of four Tottenham players to make the cut, Pedro Porro was solid at the back for Ange Postecoglou’s side. He made two clearances, one tackle, and one interception in a clean sheet attaining display that returned a WhoScored.com rating of 6.88.

Centre-back: Sven Botman (Newcastle) – 7.61 rating On his second appearance since his return from injury, Sven Botman was superb in Newcastle’s 2-0 win at Arsenal on Tuesday night. Indeed, the Dutchman won seven aerial duels and made eight clearances to help the Magpies to a first-leg advantage and Botman to a WhoScored.com rating of 7.61.

Centre-back: Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) – 7.60 rating It’s an all-Dutch centre-back pairing as Virgil van Dijk features at the heart of the defence despite Liverpool’s 1-0 loss at Tottenham on Wednesday. Left-back: Djed Spence (Tottenham) – 7.56 rating Rounding off the defence is Djed Spence, who is good value for his inclusion with a WhoScored.com rating of 7.56. Spence did well to keep Mohamed Salah quiet on Wednesday night, making six clearances and two tackles, while an additional two dribbles helped the 24-year-old nail down the left-back spot in this side.

Central midfield: Lucas Bergvall (Tottenham) – 8.08 rating With a WhoScored.com rating of 8.08, Lucas Bergvall is the EFL Cup Player of the Week. Not only did Bergvall score what proved to be the decisive goal getting the better of Alisson with one of two shots, but he also worked hard off the ball, making three tackles and two clearances.

Central midfield: Sandro Tonali (Newcastle) – 7.60 rating Stepping in for Bruno Guimaraes at the base of the Newcastle midfield, Sandro Tonali didn’t disappoint as evidenced by a WhoScored.com rating of 7.60.

Tonali chipped in with two clearances, including one off the line, one tackle, and one interception, which resulted in a solid showing.

Central midfield: Declan Rice (Arsenal) – 7.71 rating While he was on the losing side on Tuesday night, Declan Rice still did all he could to help Arsenal against the Magpies on home turf.

The 25-year-old made five key passes and completed three dribbles at the Emirates, while three aerial wins helped the Gunners midfielder to a WhoScored.com rating of 7.71.

Right-wing: Jacob Murphy (Newcastle) – 7.07 rating Jacob Murphy kicks off an all-Newcastle frontline having earned a WhoScored.com rating of 7.07 in midweek.

While Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon have been getting all the plaudits, Murphy has been quietly going about his business as he provided his fourth assist from his last five appearances, that coming from one of two key passes in North London.

Isak got the better of David Raya with one of two shots, while additional returns of two key passes and two dribbles saw the Swede land a WhoScored.com rating of 7.86.
