Sunderland and Chelsea meet at the Stadium of Light on Sunday afternoon aiming to finish their Premier League campaigns on a high. According to Sunderland Echo, both could still reach Europe if they win and other results fall their way.

Sunderland face a major doubt over Omar Alderete, who aggravated a hip problem at Everton last week. He is due a late fitness test on Friday and the head coach expects to be without him, so Luke O'Nien is likely to return.

Winger Chemsdine Talbi is out after sustaining a muscle injury in training this week. He will miss Sunday’s game.

For Chelsea, Joao Pedro remains a doubt. He missed the Spurs match but trained on Friday and his involvement this weekend looks promising under interim boss Callum McFarlane.

Dan Ballard is unavailable as he serves the final match of his three‑match suspension for violent conduct in the draw at Wolves. Sunderland’s appeal against the ban was rejected.
