Bild (via @iMiaSanMia) has reported on the contract situations of Bayern Munich pair Serge Gnabry and Leon Goretzka, with the duo’s deals expiring in the summer.

The situations for the pair could not be more different.

Bayern are open to keeping Gnabry at the club beyond the summer if he signs a new contract on reduced terms. In recent weeks, the 30-year-old has impressed with his performances, and the Rekordmeister have shown an initial interest in extending his contract.

Gnabry himself is open to staying in Munich and is even willing to take a pay cut on his €17-18m per year salary to stay at the Allianz Arena.

For Goretzka, however, the chance of a contract extension looks slim.

The midfielder earns a similar salary to Gnabry, and due to Aleksander Pavlovic and Tom Bischof being able to play in the same position as Goretzka, there is little need for him.

Bayern appreciate how the 30-year-old has fought back from being left out in the cold last season, but he is no longer really needed.

The other contracts that the Bundesliga winners are working on are Michael Olise, Dayot Upamecano and even Harry Kane.
