A life dedicated to football, a life that inevitably intertwined with the Nerazzurri colours: Andrea Zanchetta’s Inter story started a long time ago, the Coach, born in Gaglianico on 2 February 1975, joined the Nerazzurri Youth Sector at 13.

23 October 1994, he made his senior debut at 19 when Ottavio Bianchi sent him on in the 54th minute of a league clash against Foggia. Zanchetta was one of the most promising players of the Nerazzurri Primavera: in December, Andrea started his first match at San Siro against Napoli. Unforgettable. In total, Zanchetta made 5 appearances for the Nerazzurri in 1994/95, two in the league and three in the Coppa Italia.

His career had only just begun: Inter sold him to Foggia where he played two seasons in Serie B before moving to Chievo Verona in 1997. Andrea stayed with the Gialloblu until 2000, then went out on loan to Reggiana where he had another taste of Serie A football, before returning to Verona and having a loan spell in Vicenza. He played two seasons with the Biancorossi, before returning to Chievo, from 2003 to 2006, becoming a cornerstone of the side and wearing the captain’s armband. A technical and capable midfielder in all areas, and a free-kick specialist, Andrea retired from playing in 2011 after two years at Lecce and two at Cremonese.

He started his coaching career with the Grigiorossi, taking charge of the Cremonese Under-17 side before becoming Juventus Primavera Head Coach in 2013. In his first year at the helm of an Under-19 side, he won the Supercoppa Primavera, but the Bianconeri spell ended in March 2014. Briefly part of the Alessandria youth sector, he then became a technical collaborator at Hellas Verona in the 2015/16 season in Serie A, part of Andrea Mandorlini’s team and then assisting Luigi Delneri.

Andrea’s dreams had always been Nerazzurri, as was his destiny: he returned to Inter in 2016 where he took charge of the Under-17 side until 2019: Zanchetta won the league in his first year, repeating the achievement in 2018/19 and winning two Supercoppa. In 2019/20, he coached the Nerazzurri Under-18 side, going back to the U17s for a season, before returning to the U18s in 2021. In three seasons, the young Nerazzurri reached three playoffs and one final in 2022/23 under Zanchetta.

Now, a new chapter in Nerazzurri begins for Andrea Zanchetta: after 8 successful years in the Nerazzurri Youth Sector, the Coach will take on the role of Inter Primavera Head Coach, to accompany many lads on their journeys towards a career rich with satisfaction.
