Rosenior was sacked by Chelsea on Wednesday evening less than four months after signing a six and a half year contract.

The final straw was the 3-0 defeat against Brighton, Chelsea’s fifth in a row in the league without scoring, and the Blues now sit eighth in the table.

Rosenior becomes the second manager to leave Chelsea this season after Enzo Maresca, and Calum McFarlane has been placed in interim charge for the remainder of the season.

McFarlane oversaw two games earlier this season, a draw against Manchester City and a defeat against Fulham, and he’ll now lead Chelsea out against Leeds at Wembley on Sunday.

It’s said the Blues will take their time in the search for a new head coach, but it’s thought Andoni Iraola is an early frontrunner.

Rosenior will likely feel relieved  he’s now out of the job, but it could take him time to pick himself back up and rebuild.

It’s never nice seeing manager’s lose their jobs, and after City’s win against Burnley on Wednesday, Guardiola shared his thoughts.

“I’m so sorry, I’m pretty sure he’s a manager for that level,” he said as quoted on X.com.

“Always when this happens, always I think about how lucky, again, I am being in the club where I am. I picked the right club ten years ago, with an incredible hierarchy, incredible CEOs and Sporting Directors. Unbelievable.

“The consistency, the trust with the people I’m working with here, it’s amazing. I’m so lucky. “The decision [of Chelsea] is not my concern.”
