The desert is calling! Bayern star flirts with a move to Saudi Arabia

The future of Nicolas Jackson at FC Bayern is apparently about to be resolved quickly – but probably not in Munich’s favor. The Senegalese international, who moved to the Isar from Chelsea FC on loan in the summer of 2025, could soon find his sporting home in Saudi Arabia

The record champions reportedly paid around €13 million for the one-year loan. A purchase option of €65 million was also agreed. However, it is now considered extremely unlikely that this option will actually be exercised. Jackson only plays a minor role in the sport – and the contractual conditions also speak against him staying permanently

As the portal SportsBoom reports, several clubs from the Saudi Pro League have set their sights on the 24-year-old. Al-Ahli in particular are said to be specifically interested. They are reportedly looking for a replacement for Ivan Toney, who is aiming to return to the Premier League. The English striker has scored an impressive 46 goals in 52 league games in Saudi Arabia since 2024

European interest – but Saudi realistic

In addition to the Saudis, European clubs are also said to be monitoring the situation. According to SportsBoom, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are among those mentioned as interested. However, Chelsea are said to be demanding at least €40 million in the event of a permanent transfer, a sum that could make a move within Europe more difficult

A move to Saudi Arabia therefore appears to be a more realistic option – especially as the financial opportunities there are known to be generous

No obligation to buy

Jackson has made 22 appearances for FC Bayern so far, scoring five goals and making just seven appearances in the starting eleven. His role as a supplementary player is obvious – not least because of the special clause in his contract. Allegedly, the option to buy would automatically convert into an obligation to buy after 40 appearances. However, Jackson will not be able to reach this mark this season

Added to this is the fact that Harry Kane is set in the center of the attack and Jackson can only rarely take on his preferred role as a second striker. In terms of prospects, there are many indications that the two sides will part ways again in the summer

Chelsea have the upper hand, with Jackson still under contract with the Blues until the end of June 2033. For FC Bayern, the chapter has so far been an expensive but manageable interlude in sporting terms – and possibly one that will soon come to an end.
