The DFB squad will travel to North America with Dortmund players Nico Schlotterbeck, Waldemar Anton, Felix Nmecha and Maxi Beier. The DFB had already announced the first World Cup squad members earlier in the morning via short videos on social media. At the press conference at midday, Nagelsmann confirmed the inclusion of the BVB quartet.

The DFB squad will begin their World Cup preparations on 27 May in Herzogenaurach. This will be followed by two friendly matches against Finland (31 May, 20:45 CEST) and hosts the USA (6 June, 20:30 CEST).
