According to several media reports, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is considering organizing a farewell match in tribute to three former pillars of the national team.

These legends are goalkeeper Raïs M’Bolhi (96 caps), striker Islam Slimani (102 caps), and midfielder Sofiane Feghouli (82 caps).

M’Bolhi, Slimani and Feghouli soon to be honored in a farewell match

According to information revealed by the Qatari website WinWin, this initiative aims to salute the outstanding careers of this trio with the Fennecs, following their major contributions to the Algerian national team's greatest successes over the past decade.

Among these achievements are the historic qualification for the Round of 16 at the 2014 World Cup and the triumph at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt.

According to the same source, this tribute match is expected to be organized after the 2026 World Cup, to give a final salute to these three players for their remarkable journeys with the Fennecs.
