The PFA Player of the Year award is the Premier League’s most prestigious prize. Voted by your fellow professionals as the league’s number one is perhaps the ultimate honour.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is expected to win the 2025/26 award when its announced later this month, having already claimed the FWA Footballer of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season prizes.

Attention has already turned to this season’s award, as the 2026/27 Premier League campaign gets underway on Friday.

Alexander Isak – Liverpool (11/1)

Liverpool’s record recruit endured a difficult debut season at Anfield, with the pressure on to make an impact this time around. Isak struggled during his first year at Liverpool, but has shown encouraging signs in pre-season.

At his best, Isak is an elite talent, and he scored 44 goals over his final two Premier League seasons at Newcastle. A return to that form, and success for Liverpool, could put him in the mix.

Bukayo Saka – Arsenal (17/2)

Bukayo Saka did not have the best of individual seasons despite Arsenal’s title success last term. Niggling issues hindered Saka throughout the campaign and at the 2026 World Cup, but he’ll return refreshed and ready to make an impact. A hat-trick for England against France this summer showed just how lethal he can be.

Declan Rice – Arsenal (7/1)

Declan Rice often features near the top of these lists, with the all-action Arsenal midfielder hard to miss. His lung-busting endeavour and team-first style of football attract admiration.

Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United (6/1)

Bruno Fernandes looks the red-hot favourite for the 2025/26 prize and is second-favourite to make it back-to-back. Fernandes broke the Premier League’s assist record last term, creating 21 goals, and remains Manchester United’s talisman.

Erling Haaland – Manchester City (11/2)

Erling Haaland headlines the running, with goals a sure way to catch the attention. None put it in the back of the net more often than Haaland, who secured a third career Golden Boot last season. Haaland won this prize in 2022/23 and is aiming to join an exclusive group of multi-time winners.
