After a productive preparation period that included training in Guadalajara, Isla Navidad, and some friendly matches, Chivas Femenil is ready to face the start of the 2025 Apertura, as this Sunday they will visit the Alfonso Lastras Stadium to play Matchday 1 against Atlético San Luis.
This rivalry has a long history, including 12 league matches, which began on Matchday 2 of the 2019 Apertura. On that day, Guadalajara won 2-1, thanks to goals from Tania Morales and Nicole Pérez. The historical record heavily favors the Rojiblanco team, which remains undefeated against the Potosí side, with nine wins and three draws.
In fact, in 7 of the 12 matches, the Rebaño Sagrado kept a clean sheet, which speaks to their ability to neutralize Atlético San Luis. Interestingly, the biggest win in the history of this rivalry came in Week 1, as they faced each other in the opening match of the 2021 Apertura, with Chivas Femenil winning 5-0 with goals from Alicia Cervantes, Joseline Montoya, Carolina Jaramillo, and a brace from Michelle González.
Considering that next Sunday's match will be played at the Alfonso Lastras stadium, it is worth remembering the last clash between these teams played at that venue. That match was won by the Rebaño, who won 0-3 on matchday 6 of the 2019 Apertura.
On an individual level, there is also a special feature, as Adriana Iturbide reached 100 games with Guadalajara precisely in the last match against the Potosinas, which was played at the Akron Stadium on February 6 of this year.
