There has been much speculation about why former AmaZulu FC and Magesi FC Limbikani Mzava chose to move to the Malaysian Super League instead of joining one of the elite clubs in the PSL, despite several clubs having made a genuine offer for his services.

The Malawian defender spent more than 14 years in South Africa before moving to Asia at the age of 31, so he has gained extensive experience and it is natural for him to receive an offer like this, of course.

His career includes stints with Bloemfontein Celtic, Golden Arrows, Highlands Park, AmaZulu FC, and most recently Betway Premiership side Magesi FC.

After joining the Limpopo-based club last season, he departed midway through the campaign.

The Malawian international confirmed receiving a domestic proposal from second-tier side Venda FC, where former mentor Clinton Larsen currently manages. Their professional relationship dates back to their successful Carling Knockout Cup campaign together at Magesi FC.

"I considered Larsen's offer," Mzava disclosed, "but prioritized exploring international opportunities first. Should those plans falter, I'd reconsider joining Venda." The experienced defender maintains South Africa as a viable fallback option despite his current pursuit of foreign challenges.
