Sunderland supporters are braced for some serious mileage in 2026/27, at home and across Europe, after clinching a Europa League berth.
According to Sunderland Echo, a seventh-placed Premier League finish under Regis Le Bris has delivered European football for only the second time in the club’s history, with a place in the Europa League’s league phase alongside Juventus, AC Milan and Marseille.
Domestically, the shortest trip is Newcastle United at St James Park, a 31.2-mile round journey for Wearside followers.
Leeds United to Elland Road clocks 194.6 miles there and back, while Hull City to the MKM Stadium totals 270.8 miles.
Manchester City away to the Etihad Stadium is the longest of those listed at 273.6 miles round trip. The miles will add up as fans back their side to build on a remarkable return to the top flight.
