Sunderland supporters are braced for some mammoth mileage in 2026/27, with lengthy domestic trips ahead as they back the bid to build on a remarkable top-flight return.
According to Sunderland Echo, a seventh-place finish under Regis Le Bris has secured Europa League football, only the second European campaign in the club’s history, alongside the likes of Juventus, AC Milan and Marseille.
With help from AA Route Planner, the shortest Premier League journey is Newcastle United at St James Park, a 31.2-mile round trip.
Leeds United at Elland Road is 194.6 miles there and back.
Hull City at the MKM Stadium clocks 270.8 miles for the return.
Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium is a 273.6-mile round trip.
That is before the Europa League league phase adds further travel to the calendar.
