Carlton Cole has been speaking about Joao Pedro and the potential impact he could have on Chelsea and their season.

“When he’s not playing, you can see the effect it has on the team,” the ex-Chelsea striker said in quotes picked up by Goal.com.

“So that’s a massive sign that he’s a big part of the set-up that [Xabi] Alonso’s building. And I’m looking at it, and I think he’s one of those players that could actually get into high double figures this season if used correctly and stays fit. He’s one of the ones to watch out for this season, definitely.”

High double figures would imply that JP is going to score 80 or 90 goals this season, and despite his quality we can’t quite see that. But we know what Cole means. If the Brazilian can score 30 in all competitions, that would be a great return and mean Chelsea have a number 9 with the consistency needed to take this team to the very top level – if the rest of the team can just sort itself out.
