Liam Rosenior has stated his biggest focus is not just on being Chelsea manager, but being a winning Chelsea manager.

The 41-year-old watched from stands on Tuesday night as the Blues lost 2-1 against Fulham at Craven Cottage, meaning they are now on a run of one win in nine in the league.

Marc Cucurella got sent off in the first half, which made Chelsea’s task tougher, although Liam Delap scored his first Premier League goal, but it wasn’t enough as Harry Wilson scored the winner.

If Rosenior had any doubts of how big a job he’s got on his hands, he would have realised watching that performance.

The Blues are now eighth in the league, and have won just eight of their 21 league matches this season, which simply isn’t good enough.

Rosenior will need to get an instant response from the squad, starting with his first game in charge against Charlton in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The former Strasbourg boss arrived on the Chelsea bus, and spoke to Sky Sports before the game, where he revealed what his message was to the players.

“My biggest focus is not about being a Chelsea manager, it’s about being a winning Chelsea manager, and that is the message that I gave the players yesterday,” he told Sky Sports.

The Blues aren’t back in Premier League action until January 17th, and the cup competitions could offer a welcome distraction.
