Tarik Muharemovic has made a swift impact in the Premier League with Leeds United. The Bosnian international has anchored the division’s meanest defence so far this season and has contributed with his passing, even finding the net.
Signed from Sassuolo in the summer, he has looked the full package in these early weeks. According to Leeds Live, former Leeds player and manager Simon Grayson needed only a pre-season glimpse, a tackle in a home friendly, to feel he would be an Elland Road hit.
"James Trafford was obviously well renowned and everyone knew what he was going to be like, but for me Muharemovic has been exceptional," said Simon Grayson.
"When I watched him in the first game in pre-season I though, 'this kid is a proper player'. He can pass the ball well and hits big diagonals. He can pass the ball through the lines and he is a danger in both boxes. And he loves a tackle."
"I remember watching the Leipzig game and he did a tackle right in front of the south stand and the whole place erupted. I was thinking then, 'you're going to go down well with this football club'. He's definitely been the one, but they have all settled in really quickly."
