The new MLS Power Rankings are here and not every team will like their placement | OneFootball

With a couple of days before a new matchday, the MLS has all its eyes set on the All-Star Game. Yesterday, Tuesday, was the skills challenge, where Thomas Muller surpassed Evander, but the Brazilian forward tied the new record set by the German forward.

After a back-to-back win, Orlando City has shown a major improvement with Antoine Griezmann on their roster. On the other side, Inter Miami has shown they are still a powerhouse even without Lionel Messi.

On the other hand, you’ve got teams like Nashville SC or the Vancouver Whitecaps who are losing momentum, and their results are beginning to falter.

Given these developments, the official MLS website has unveiled its latest power rankings ahead of this weekend’s matchdays.

Alongside these Power Rankings, you'll notice that while some teams such as Nashville SC are leading their conference, others such as the Vancouver Whitecaps have dropped in the rankings due to recent losses or draws.

Additionally, teams such as Inter Miami and New York City FC have climbed the rankings by securing impressive victories over tough opponents and contenders near the top of the standings.

Without further ado, this is the most recent Power Ranking presented by the MLS:

Looking at these rankings, it may come as a surprise to see Atlanta United sitting in last place.

Although that's understandable given the club's disappointing regular season, it's more surprising to see teams like the Chicago Fire outside the top 10 despite holding a better placement in the standings than clubs such as New York City FC or FC Dallas.

However, as I mentioned earlier, these rankings are based primarily on each team's recent results.

They also take into account how those results were achieved, how convincing a team's wins were, and the manner and margin of its defeats.

Overall, if I had to put my personal opinion, I don't think the rankings are wrong, but I would make a few changes by swapping the positions of certain teams.
