11 Norwich City players are set to depart in June, should their contracts not be renewed.
Norwich City have 11 players who could potentially leave for free in June 2025, should contract extensions not be handed out to those whose deals expire.
The Canaries have struggled for consistency so far this season, and a string of poor results against Queen's Park Rangers, Portsmouth, and Burnley hasn't helped their play-off push as of late.
Johannes Hoff Thorup will be carefully considering who he hands out contract extensions to, as the ex-Premier League side has failed to meet expectations. With room in the squad needed to add reinforcements, a few players could be shown the door at Carrow Road when their deals expire.
According to Transfermarkt, these are the 11 Norwich players who will depart the club in the summer, should a new deal not be agreed.
Scotland international, Angus Gunn, has had his fair share of ups and downs in Norfolk. The ex-Southampton keeper has proven to be a solid shot-stopper, but has also proven to be fairly inconsistent.
The 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and could seek a new challenge elsewhere, having been at Carrow Road since 2021.
Christian Fassnacht's game time has been limited this season, due to injuries. He looked like a real coup for Norwich when he arrived from BSC Young Boys last summer, but has failed to replicate his form he showed in Switzerland.
However, the 31-year-old has an option for an extra year include in his current contract.
Former Brentford star, Emiliano Marcondes, joined the Canaries in the summer after he was released by AFC Bournemouth.
The Dane has featured in the majority of City's fixtures so far, and also has an option to extend his stay for a further year.
A Championship winner with the Canaries, Jacob Sorensen, has been with the East Anglian club since 2020.
Now 26, Sorensen finds himself as a rotation option in Thorup's midfield. However, he also has the same clause in his contract as Fassnacht and Marcondes, allowing him to extend for an extra year.
Grant Hanley has lifted the Championship trophy three times in his career, proving his experience as a serial winner at this level.
The Scottish defender is nearing the twilight of his career and has barely featured for the Yellows this season. With no option to extend, Hanley could be off if no new deal is negotiated.
At the club since 2017, Onel Hernandez is well established as part of the furniture at Carrow Road. Sadly, he suffered a hamstring injury which has kept him sidelined for some time.
Similarly to Sorensen, the Cuban winger is a rotation player for Thorup, so he won't be the top priority for a new contract. However, the option for an extra year means that he could well stay put.
Ashley Barnes finds himself out of the picture for Thorup's side, having just a handful of appearances to his name.
The club have control over the future of the 35-year-old though, as he has a one-year extension that can be triggered by Norwich. Given his contributions this season, that seems unlikely to be utilized.
Now 22, Tony Springett will be looking to make the next move in his career to find consistent playing time.
Sadly, his minutes have been limited at Carrow Road, which could certainly tempt him with a move away in the summer.
Jonathan Tomkinson is in a similar predicament to Springett when it comes to match minutes. The American defender has found game time hard to come by this season.
However, unlike the previous man on the list, the 22-year-old has an option for a further year.
Jaden Warner makes it a hattrick of 22-year-old's struggling for game time. The defender had a solid loan spell at Notts County last year, but hasn't had the chance to make an impact at Carrow Road.
With no option to extend his deal, Warner could look for opportunities elsewhere.
Finally, young goalkeeper Archie Mair is the last player out of contract in the summer.
The 23-year-old hasn't had a look in at Norwich, but has enjoyed some solid loan spells away. City also have the option to keep Mair at the club beyond 2025.
