Manchester City’s 2-1 victory over Newcastle United brought up another milestone for Pep Guardiola during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
The City boss has now hit the remarkable landmark of 500 Premier League goals at the Etihad Stadium during his nine-and-a-half years at the Club.
Nico O’Reilly hit the 500th goal of his reign and the 501st for good measure as we maintained our challenge at the top of the Premier League.
Here we take a deeper look at how we reached the figure.
It will probably come as no surprise to see that Erling Haaland has made the biggest contribution to the tally with 61 goals, which includes seven hat-tricks.
He’s ahead of Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling who both have 45 goals with the Argentinian score five trebles under Guardiola.

Kevin De Bruyne (42) and Phil Foden (34) also make the top five in a typically impressive list of Premier League greats.
The top 10 is completed by Gabriel Jesus (32), Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez (both 27), Bernardo Silva (22) and David Silva (15).
It was back in September 2019 that we had our single biggest contribution to the grand total with an 8-0 victory over Watford.
There have been two occasions when we have scored seven – thrashing Leeds 7-0 in December 2021 and beating Stoke 7-2 in October 2017.
We’ve also secured 6-0 wins over Chelsea and Nottingham Forest as well as 6-1 victories over Huddersfield, Southampton and Bournemouth along with a 6-3 win over Manchester United.
The 2017/18 campaign was our most productive with 61 goals in the ‘Centurions’ season – just one ahead of the 60 in our ‘Treble’ year.
Despite being in and out of the Premier League during Guardiola’s reign, City have scored more goals against Burnley at the Etihad than any other team.
In total, we’ve scored 30 goals against the Clarets – one more than against Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.
Coming from just eight games, that’s an average of nearly four goals conceded per match against Burnley.
The Lancashire team can at least be grateful that it’s just Premier League goals and doesn’t include the three home FA Cup victories under Pep which finished 4-1, 5-0 and 6-0!
In total, 16 opposition players have contributed to the total with own goals.
Sunderland’s Paddy McNair was the first back in August 2016 when his 87th minute own goal secured a 2-1 win in Guardiola’s first Premier League game in charge at the Etihad.

Unfortunately it’s back to the luckless Burnley for the biggest individual scorer from an away side.
Maxime Esteve is the only player to score two own goals for us, both coming in City’s 5-1 win in September 2022.
Aguero was the first on target for Guardiola at the Etihad, scoring a fourth minute penalty in the win over Sunderland nine-and-a-half years ago.
Probably the biggest Premier League home goal of the past 10 seasons was Gundogan’s 81st minute strike on the final day of the 2021/22 season to beat Aston Villa 3-2 and secure the title.
The 2023/24 season also went to the final game of the season with Foden scoring twice against West Ham, including a memorable opener, with Rodri wrapping up a 3-1 win.

We also clinched the title at the Etihad in the previous season, albeit with two games to spare, when Julian Alvarez scored in a 1-0 victory over Chelsea.
The quickest goal under Pep at home came from Sterling after 38 seconds in a 3-1 over Watford in January 2018 while the latest was John Stones’ equaliser against Arsenal in September 2024 which was clocked at 97 minutes and 14 seconds.
We welcome Forest to the Etihad Stadium at 19:30 (UK) on Wednesday 4 March.
And you can be there to see it as Pep Guardiola’s City continue to chase Premier League glory.
Tickets for this game are now on sale to all fans, starting from just £43 for adults and £23 for U18s.
