Amidst a great atmosphere and various recreational activities, the Pásala program came to a close on Tuesday at the Jocotán Sports Complex, an initiative that benefited more than 150 girls and boys between the ages of 5 and 16 in the communities of San Juan de Ocotán and Jocotán.

The Pásala program began in February and concluded today with an awards ceremony and medals for the children who participated in the program, with the participation of Alan Mozo, defender for Guadalajara. This initiative was made possible thanks to the partnership between MG, the Jorge Vergara Foundation, and Chivas, who joined forces to promote a community-based social and sports intervention with the goal of becoming a driving force for positive change in society.

The activities took place at four venues: the Camichines Sports Complex, the La Colmena soccer field, the DIF San Juan de Ocotán soccer field, and the Jocotán Sports Complex.

During the sessions, thanks to volunteer instructors from the community, participants not only worked on technical and tactical aspects of soccer, but also received nutrition workshops to promote good eating habits, first aid training, and the opportunity to enjoy unique experiences such as attending the AKRON Stadium to watch Rebaño Sagrado matches.

Programs like this seek to provide children and youth with tools that allow them to improve their environment and quality of life, as well as provide safe spaces for coexistence and integration within their community, thus consolidating the power of sport as a vehicle for social transformation.
