Football League World has taken a look at the predicted EFL League Two table, based on the bookmakers' odds

League Two clubs up and down the country will be vying for glory once the fourth-tier campaign gets underway in August.

The League Two lineup for the 2026/27 was confirmed when Rochdale beat Boreham Wood in the National League play-off final on 10 May.

Meanwhile, Exeter City, Port Vale, Rotherham United, and Northampton Town all suffered relegation from League One, meaning they will be locking horns with more established fourth-tier outfits next term.

League Two has waved goodbye to Bromley, Milton Keynes Dons, Cambridge United, and Notts County, who all won promotion, while Harrogate Town and Barrow were relegated to the National League.

24 ? ? Newport County

Newport County avoided the drop by just four points in 2025/26, and another season of struggling is on the cards, according to the bookmakers.

The South Wales club haven't ventured into non-league since winning promotion to League Two in 2013, but that could be the fate they're facing soon.

23 ? ? Cheltenham Town

Cheltenham Town avoided the drop more comfortably than Newport, but they could join County in being relegated to the National League in 2027.

The Gloucestershire club haven't been in the fifth tier since 2016, and won't want to return, especially given the fact that they were in League One as recently as 2024.

22 ? ? Accrington Stanley

Accrington Stanley finished 16th in League Two at the end of the 2025/26 season, but they have been backed to endure a less comfortable season next term.

The Lancashire outfit were only relegated from League One in 2023, and won't want to be looking nervously over their shoulder at dropping out of the EFL.

21 ? ? Tranmere Rovers

Prenton Park hasn't been a happy place over the last two seasons, while Tranmere Rovers have dangerously flirted with relegation to the National League.

The Wirral side have been tipped to finish in the lower echelons of the League Two table once again, though.

20 ? ? Shrewsbury Town

Shrewsbury Town finished just 19th in League Two, after being relegated from League One in 2025, and will want to achieve greater success next season.

However, the bookmakers' odds suggest that Croud Meadow club are set for another term of disappointment.

19 ? ? Fleetwood Town

Fleetwood Town are among the clubs that have been relegated to League Two in recent years, and would love to land a League One return.

However, the Lancashire club may be left a little more worried about how close they are to the relegation zone next term.

Crawley Town avoided the drop by just one point in 2026, and have already been backed to enjoy a somewhat more comfortable campaign next term.

The West Sussex club were playing League One football as recently as 2025, but that already feels like a distant memory.

Rochdale won a remarkable tally of 106 points in the National League in 2025/26, but it wasn't enough to seal automatic promotion to League Two, as they were pipped to the title by York City.

However, Dale eventually won promotion to the fourth tier via the play-offs, and have now been backed by the bookmakers to avoid relegation comfortably.

Exeter have been relegated from League One to League Two, and would love to return to the third tier as quickly as possible.

However, the Grecians have instead been backed to endure a more modest outcome in their 2026/27 campaign.

15 ? ? Walsall

Walsall reached the League Two play-offs following a successful 2024/25 season, a feat they were unable to emulate in 2025/26.

The Saddlers will likely find themselves enduring mid-table mediocrity once more, should the bookmakers' odds come to fruition.
