FC Barcelona are still stuck in a limbo of sorts when it comes to their ongoing registration issues. Despite having been labelled as an issue since quite a few months ago, it continues to linger on and on. Unfortunately for Barcelona, it is hindering their ability at a sporting level to use all the quality at their disposal.

Both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor have proven themselves to be useful assets to the team this season, and Hansi Flick could really use that additional depth should it be made available for him to use. However, it seems likely that this issue will continue to drag on for Barcelona.

With both La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) having denied the club any chance of registering the two players so far, Barcelona have decided to take the matter to the Higher Sports Council (CSD). Moreover, the club reportedly plans to use a report to make their case which comes from the RFEF itself.

As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the RFEF has reportedly drafted a rather favorable report considering the position of FC Barcelona and their issue with the registrations of both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. Moreover, the RFEF is even reportedly considering changing the current regulations to clarify such complicated situations in the future.

According to the same update, Barcelona now plans to use this report in their appeal to the CSD. The Catalan giants hope to request an urgent precautionary method or measure that would allow both players to be registered while their grand issue is resolved.

As for the RFEF’s report, one that will reportedly be approved in the coming months, has some articles that showcase that the regulations in place that are currently hindering the registration of the two Barcelona players may not apply to them after all. Should this actually be the case, it could be quite beneficial to the Catalan club.

Ultimately, the decision to grant that precautionary measure is up to the CSD. However, MD highlights that despite the fact that Barcelona is acting quickly on the matter and trying to resolve it as soon as possible, a final solution would be unlikely to arrive before the upcoming Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Athletic Club.
