Matarazzo and Valverde will sleep on late tweaks before tomorrow’s semi-final second leg at Anoeta, with several selection calls still unresolved.

According to Diario Vasco, Remiro should start, Caleta-Car is ahead of Zubeldia, and the left wing stays open after Marín’s derby form. For Athletic, right-back vexes Valverde, and Rego replaces injured Ruiz de Galarreta.

Remiro arrives off clean sheets in Mallorca and the first leg, when Athletic scarcely tested him. Padilla likely starts again despite no minutes since then, his saves kept the deficit to one.

Aramburu is nailed on at right-back and impressed against Navarro and Nico. Athletic could select Lekue, with Gorosabel or Areso alternatives. Vivian returns to marshal the defence, while Laporte will look to launch attacks.

Sergio Gómez is fixed at left-back, juggling Iñaki Williams duty with raids. Yuri managed his load and should start, reliable at the back and still dangerous arriving into the box.

Gorrotxategi runs Real’s midfield and has scored in a derby. Turrientes excelled in Mallorca and hit the 0-1 in the first leg. Jauregizar has recovered and remains pivotal for Athletic.

Soler is Matarazzo’s on-field guide, fresh from scoring in Mallorca and with experience of two Copa finals. Sancet can turn matches with his stride and late arrivals.

Guedes has seven goals and seven assists this season, his pressing and runs lift Real. For Athletic, Iñaki Williams scored against Rayo and hunts space, while Oyarzabal has 11 and Guruzeta nine across January and February.
