Leeds United have flown to the USA for a pre-season tour, but seven first-team players have not travelled, and a 30-man squad has been named. Daniel Farke’s side will continue training across the trip.
According to Leedsunited.news, this is their first such visit in 29 years. They face Wrexham in Florida, then Sunderland in New Jersey, before Liverpool in Illinois, and will host fellow Red Bull club Leipzig on August 8 after returning to Yorkshire. Noah Okafor has been granted extended leave after Switzerland reached the World Cup quarter-finals, and has featured once this summer.
Joe Gelhardt has been linked with a £3m exit, but interest has been limited given his wages. After a brilliant loan at Hull, his future is uncertain and he stays at home. Jack Harrison is back from Fiorentina with two years left on the long-term deal signed in 2023, and has been linked with New England.
Mateo Joseph was likely made available for transfer after a poor loan at Mallorca, then suffered an ACL injury. Absent from club media so far, he is likely in rehab. Largie Ramazani, a surprise omission after impressing at Valencia, is out, which is a clear hint he is not needed.
Max Wober is omitted after an uninspiring loan at Werder Bremen, where he again had injury issues, and is currently training in Austria with other free agents. Sam Chambers, a Scotland youth international who debuted under Farke in 2024-25 and even started, has had injuries and misses the trip.
