Manchester City and Nottingham Forest have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of tonight’s Premier League clash at the Etihad. Tonight is the night that City’s fightback must begin and the hope is that playing in front of their home support will inspire Pep Guardiola’s side.
For Manchester City John Stones, Mateo Kovacic, Rodri and Oscar Bobb will miss tonight’s match due to injury. Pep Guardiola confirmed yesterday that John Stones is unlikely to feature at all this week due to a foot injury. The City manager did have a positive update on the condition of Kevin De Bruyne as he informed the media that De Bruyne is making progress in his return from injury. It remains to be seen if De Bruyne will start tonight.
Here are the starting lineups ahead of what looms as a pivotal match for the world champions at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola has made four changes to the starting lineup that went down to Liverpool at Anfield. In comes Kevin De Bruyne, Josko Gvardiol, Jeremy Doku and Jack Grealish. Out goes Kyle Walker, Rico Lewis, Matheus Nunes and Phil Foden.
Kevin De Bruyne finally makes his return to the starting lineup. That is massive news for the world champions. Jack Grealish also starts and it will be interesting to see if he plays in City’s midfield tonight.
