Manchester City and Tottenham have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of today’s pivotal Premier League encounter at the Etihad Stadium. The world champions enter today’s game on the back of four consecutive defeats in all competitions. That is unchartered territory for Pep Guardiola’s side. They will face an inconsistent Tottenham side who on their day can be a real handful. A mouth watering match awaits between two teams who are committed to playing attacking football.
For Manchester City there has been some relief on the injury front. Jack Grealish, Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, John Stones and Kevin De Bruyne are all back and fit enough to play in today’s match as per Pep Guardiola’s update on Friday. That is a massive boost for the world champions. Pep Guardiola’s side have had to navigate their way through an injury crisis before the recent international break.
But Mateo Kovacic will miss today’s match. The Croatian international picked up an injury while playing for his country and faces a spell on the sidelines. Ruben Dias will also miss today’s match as he continues his recovery from injury. Jeremy Doku is also not with the City squad for today’s match due to injury. Oscar Bobb and Rodri remain out with long-term injuries.

Pep Guardiola has made three changes to the team that lost 2-1 to Brighton last time out. In comes Manuel Akanji, John Stones as me Bernardo Silva. Out goes Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, Matheus Nunes and Mateo Kovacic. Nunes and Simpson-Pusey are on the bench while Kovacic is out of the squad due to injury.
