Manchester City and Tottenham have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of City’s first home game of the 25/26 season at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s side began the new Premier League season strongly with an emphatic 4-nil win over Wolves. Thomas Frank’s side beat Burnley 3-nil last weekend to start the new season in impressive fashion.
Pep Guardiola informed the media yesterday that Rodri, Phil Foden, and Ederson are all available for today’s match. Rodri and Foden weren’t deemed fit enough to be included in Manchester City’s matchday squad at Molineux. Ederson missed last weekend’s match due to illness. Per Pep Guardiola’s update, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Savinho, and Marcus Bettinelli will all miss today’s match due to injury.
Although Manchester City is missing four players due to injury, Pep Guardiola does have a strong squad of players to choose from. Here are the starting lineups ahead of today’s match.
Pep Guardiola has made two changes to the starting eleven that beat Wolves at Molineux. In comes Rayan Cherki and Omar Marmoush. Jeremy Doku and Bernardo Silva drop to the bench for today’s match.
Rayan Cherki starts his first game for Manchester City today at the Etihad. The French international scored against Wolves and put in a lively cameo display at Molineux. He is rewarded for that showing with his first Premier League start against Tottenham.
Starting lineup: Trafford, Lewis, Stones, Ruben Dias (C), Ait-Nouri, Nico, Reijnders, Bobb, Cherki, Marmoush, Haaland.
Substitutes: Ederson, Ake, Doku, Rodri, Bernardo, Nunes, O’Reilly, Khusanov, Foden.
