Levi Colwill is still a long way from returning to training, but is on schedule with his return according to reports.
Colwill suffered an ACL injury in the first training session back after the Club World Cup, and is set to miss the majority of the season.
It was a huge blow for the Blues given how important Colwill is for the team, especially in the way Enzo Maresca likes to build up.
Joe Cole has claimed Chelsea have really struggled with Colwill, and in his absence Chelsea have made a number of poor defensive errors.
The defending for Sunderland’s winning goal on Saturday is as poor as any you’ll see all season, and the decision not to sign a new centre back isn’t looking a good one.

Chelsea have conceded 13 goals in 16 games in all competitions, with the vast majority of those coming from individual errors and poor defending.
Maresca has also struggled to find a settled centre back pairing, and has often chosen to change his partnership from game to game which hasn’t helped.
Colwill was pictured working in the gym, and The Sun have confirmed the England international is aiming to play again this season.
The report states Colwill is still a long way from returning to training, but he’s working hard on moving his knee joint again , and is on schedule with his recovery.
In Colwill’s absence another Cobham graduate in Josh Acheampong has stepped up to try and fill the void, and the youngster has impressed.

Acheampong has had to be patient, but it now appears he’s established himself as one of Chelsea’s first choice centre backs.
The teenager has been compared to a young Rio Ferdinand, and it seems Maresca strictly sees him as a centre back now, and not a right back.
